COMPREHENSIVE EYE EXAMS
If you've noticed changes in your vision or new problems with your eyes, don't wait to make an appointment for an eye exam. There are a variety of age-related conditions as well as medical conditions that may explain what you have been experiencing. Dr. Gupta takes into account your personal health history to best evaluate, diagnose, and manage your eye health.
WHY ARE EYE EXAMS IMPORTANT?
A comprehensive eye exam is more than a glasses prescription. It involves a thorough and detailed look at the various parts of the eye in order to diagnose, treat, and even prevent eye-related health problems.

There are also various medical conditions including diabetes, neurologic diseases, autoimmune diseases (rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, Sjogrens syndrome) that can directly affect the health of the eye. During a comprehensive eye exam, a series of tests are performed to assess the overall health of your eyes.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD AN EXAM BE DONE?
If your eyes are healthy and you don't have any medical conditions, it is usually ok to schedule an eye exam once per year. If you have eye conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, or macular degeneration, more frequent exams may be necessary. In general, an eye exam should be done ANY time there is a change in your vision or how your eyes feel.
